VOYAGE OF VANITY

When sky swallowed the moon,

I kept asking myself thus,

If life is vanity,

Why do we live in it egoistically?

If it is ephemeral

Why do we live in it sempiternally?

Hmm O’ ye the simpletons!

When we know we’ll all embark,

On a voyage of the end,

When the hour to drink from the cup of life tick is never visible,

Why not live humbly?

O’ ye Philistines!

I’m not a coward to be cowed in treacherous web,

I’m not a traitor to be mort,

But I wish he could be merciful enough,

I wish he could give a sign before ceasing the breath

I wish he could let have a farewell before parting with the hopeless in a voyage of unknown.

O man, live a memorable life

For the end of all is vanity.
